m/s to km/h
Understand the weather forecast by converting Meters per Second.
Understanding the Weather Forecast
Meters per Second (m/s) is the official standard speed in the International System (used a lot in physics and storm forecasting). But we only think in km/h. Since one hour contains 3,600 seconds in total, the mathematical relationship is perfect:1 m/s (Meter per Second) is strictly equal to 3.6 km/h.
The Direct Mathematics
If the TV says that the rain winds are reaching 20 m/s, don't be alarmed by the low number. To bring it to our reality, multiply the value by 3.6.
Example: Winds of 20 m/s × 3.6 = Form terrifying gusts of 72 km/h.
