Square Meters to Hectares

Rural measurement: How many hectares is your land.

How to measure rural properties?

If you are buying a site, a farm, or dealing with agribusiness documents, you will notice that the unit used is not the square meter (m²), but the Hectare (ha). The golden rule is that1 hectare is exactly equivalent to 10,000 square meters (m²)This means that a hectare is the size of an entire city block (100 meters x 100 meters).

The Practical Formula

To convert the size of a plot of land that is written in the plan in m² to Hectares, you justdivide the number by 10,000.
Example: A small farm of 50,000 m². Dividing by 10,000, we arrive at the result of 5 Hectares.
