INSS Calculator
Use the new progressive table to find out your INSS rate.
The New Progressive Table
Since the Pension Reform, the INSS calculation has become much fairer (but a little more annoying to calculate by hand). Before, you would take a single rate and multiply it by your salary. Today, your salary is 'sliced' into income brackets, and each slice has a different deduction.
How does the account work?
The first slice of your salary (up to a minimum wage) is taxed at only 7.5%. Anything beyond that up to the second limit is taxed at 9%. Anything beyond the second up to the third limit at 12%, and the last slice up to the ceiling at 14%.
In the end, our algorithm adds up all these little 'pieces' of fees and reveals yoursEffective Rate, that is, what percentage of your gross salary is actually going away (a value much lower than the 14% gross from the table!).
What if I earn more than the Cap?
INSS has a maximum contribution limit (the Social Security Ceiling). If you earn, for example, R$ 20,000, INSS will not tax your full 20 thousand. It will apply the rules until it reaches the limit set by the government and stop there. The deduction is \"frozen\" at the maximum monthly amount.
