Cube Root

Find the cube root of real numbers.

3

What is the Cube Root?

A cube rootof a number is the value that, when multiplied by itself three times (that is, raised to the cube), results in that original number.

Practical Example:

The cube root of 27 is 3. Why? Because 3 × 3 × 3 = 27. If you have a Rubik's cube of 27 blocks (3 wide, 3 high, 3 deep), finding its cube root reveals the size of each side of the cube (3).

Unlike the square root, which does not accept negative numbers (in real numbers), the cube root of a negative number exists! For example, the cube root of -8 is -2 (because -2 × -2 × -2 = -8). Our online calculator perfectly supports negative numbers and decimals.
