How to simplify a Ratio?

OneReasonIn mathematics, it expresses the relationship of magnitude between two quantities. It is often represented with the colon symbol (example: 16:9), indicating that for every 16 units of the first, there are 9 units of the second.

Practical Example (Screen Resolutions):

It is very common to need to simplify a very large ratio to find its basic aspect. For example: a TV screen with a resolution of 1920 by 1080 pixels (1920:1080) seems to have strange numbers, but if we divide both by the Greatest Common Divisor (GCD), we will find that the simplified ratio isSixteen Nine.

What is the (Optional) Scale?

After simplifying your base ratio, you might want to multiply it by a new factor (scale). If you set 1920:1080, you get 16:9. But what if you want a scale 5 times larger than the base? Just enter 5 in the scale field, and the tool will give you 80:45. It's an excellent feature for architects, graphic designers, and video editors!
